What a jewel we have in Grandma - a former National Champion, this tuff ole girl is on top of pecking order around here and is still quite a beauty at 10 years of age. While her pageant days may be over she is enjoying life as a brood doe here and we are happy to have her. A big thanks goes out to Bennie Hollingshead for allowing Grandma come and enjoy life with us.

UPDATE:

Grandma freshened like an ole pro - and with an udder nice enough she just may be making a cameo appearance at some shows this year! We are retaining Grandma's old school genetics by keeping her doe kid. We will be offering her buck as a potential herdsire prospect. Contact us for details.

Bella may be the only living daughter of the incomparable Goodwood Milkweed, dam to so many goats that have truly made a mark on the ND breed. Bella is a sturdy little doe that we fell in love with the minute she stepped a hoof on the farm. Aside from her endearing personality she has produced a National Champion (Woodhaven Farm's Lonesome Dove) and is a beautiful bodied doe in her own right.  She may not be as long and lean as our other does - but that's just fine because we truly feel her mammary potential will make up for it!

Bella is starting to bag up in preparation for February kids  - and thus far it is unmovable! We simply cannot wait to see what freshening brings and we are looking forward to campaigning Bella on the show circuit this year.

A HUGE thank you goes out to Bennie Hollingshead of Heatherwood for allowing the purchase of such a fine doe - we truly feel that an animal like her only comes a long once in a blue moon, and we are blessed to have her as a foundation doe. Her genetic prowess is priceless.

UPDATE:

After a real tough kidding Bella gave us a stunningly beautiful buck kid. We would be quite frankly crazy if we didn't keep him to serve as a future herdsire. Despite the hard kidding Bella's udder is a wonder - as the old adage goes 'a picture is worth thousand words' We'll be posting udder shots soon - you'll see what we mean!

There is only one thing I know for sure about Nigerians, and it's this;

I LOVE Suzuki Sidekick bloodlines!

They are long, lean, and ever-so-dairy! This is no exception in this striking Sidekick doe. Vanity comes from the Irish Whisper herd in Fowlerville, Michigan. She is a lovely doe with a long, pencil thin neck, sharp withers, and an unmistakable amount of dairy character. I adore does of this style. Vanity has yet to enter the show ring without multiple comments from the judges on her exquisite general appearance and eye appeal. The judge at the Michigan State fair commented that she was "obviously the hardest working doe in the ring" and to hang onto her "for a LONG, LONG time" because her daughters were bound to make their mark. Who am I to argue with that? We would like to see Vanity with a more secure rear attachment so we have crossed her on lines that feature just that; Sugar Creek RC Willful - an up and coming buck that has a pedigree that reads like a "who's who" of Nigerians, and a mammary system, that quite frankly speaks for itself. Heeding the advice from State Fair, Vanity will be with us for a LONG, LONG time - we love her look, and can't wait to see some daughters out of her!

Ah yes, another Sidekick daughter. We are pleased as punch to have Godiva here. So much so, that we also have her son, Willy Wonka (WW) here to serve as a herdsire. What can you say about Godiva that the pictures don't already? In our eyes she is quite the package - long and level with dairy character to spare. Then there's that udder......globular and well attached - how could you not want a doe like Godiva in your show string? We had our eye on this doe for sometime so when the opportunity presented itself we were quick to act. We are looking forward to getting this doe noticed in 2008.

Thank you Sue & Maddie - we hope to make you proud!

Marc dubbed this doe "Chocolate Thunder" shortly after she arrived to us from the Heatherwood herd in Iowa. While her size doesn't warrant the "Thunder" portion of her nick name (she's the smallest Sr. doe in the herd) she certainly has some outstanding qualities. I had never fully understood what judges were talking about when they described "loose, pliable, dairy skin" until this doe came to grace our herd. Her skin is unbelievably soft and pliable - and her udder is like butter! Seriously.  For a small doe, Chocolate Thunder carries herself with an extreme amount of presence and dairy character. Her mammary system offers capacity, beautifully placed teats and large orifices - she is one of those does that milks completely down to nothing although we would like to see some added extension to her fore-udder. Chocolate Thunder came to us bred and delivered a BEAUTIFUL doe kid in July of last last year; Heatherwood Forbidden Assets. She retained her mother's style & dairyness and while we are keeping her dry for this year - with her grandma being none other than ARMCH Rosasharn's Bit-O-Honey ("Mouse") the possibilities for mammary excellence are endless!
